Mechanical Engineer

Position Overview

A Mechanical Engineer is sought by a new-tech electric RV design company in Orange County, CA to perform the following duties:

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct concept development and detailed design of mechanical components and structural systems using CAD and simulation tools.
• Perform virtual product development and computer-aided engineering (CAE) analyses to validate mechanical performance under real-world conditions.
• Interpret simulation results and integrate recommendations into design iterations to ensure structural integrity and cost-efficiency.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, prototyping, and supplier teams to align engineering requirements with production feasibility.
• Develop process control plans, work instructions, and technical documentation to support scalable assembly and testing workflows.
• Participate in engineering research and testing activities to assess feasibility and performance of modular assemblies and recommend design improvements.
• Provide ongoing support in project planning, supplier communication, tooling coordination, and materials sourcing as needed.
• Assist with technical writing related to intellectual property, including disclosure preparation and design documentation for patent filings.

Required Skills and Qualities:

• Master's degree in mechanical or automobile engineering, or its foreign equivalent.
• One year of mechanical or automobile engineering experience.
• Proficient in structural analysis software, including ANSYS, ABAQUS, and COMSOL.
• Proficient in CAD tools, including SOLIDWORKS, HyperWorks, and ANS.
• Proficient in programming languages, including Python and MATLAB.
